"A Horizon in Fog: The Coming Decades of Astronomical Sciences"

A Pretty Image from the Talk

Abstract:

The astronomical community has begun the Astro2020 decadal survey, the process by which the top priorities for the decade and beyond are set. This survey is used by the community, congress, presidential administrations, and federal agencies alike to set policy and funding. With Astro2020 as a backdrop, this talk will assess the astronomy landscape on the ground and in space, describe some of the larger initiatives under consideration, and discuss multiple policy issues including funding at all scales.
